Post Brain Fog

AG Family,

So I've been dealing with this for a while. It doesn't help that I'm also dealing with benign positional vertigo (when I tilt my head, or look, to my right, the symptoms just aggravate.) Anyway, was wanting to see if anyone out there is dealing with it, and if so, can you suggest how you got rid of it (if at all.)

Honestly, it's frustrating. My anxiety is caused now my by vertigo, and feeling of awkwardness as related to "brain fog" (or whatever else you want to call it.)

In case you're wondering, I do work out almost 6 days a week, drink tons of water (within reason of course), and I'm as active as one can be with my work schedule (I play softball and I'm in a bowling league.) Also, having a girlfriend who is very active, and a dog who wants attention, keeps me on my toes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peace and Calm,
Arturo

Sometimes I feel a floating type of feeling, usually when I'm under a lot of stress. I don't really have a method of relieving the feeling, just kind of go on with my day. Don't think I'm helping much but just to let you know, I also do get a floating type feeling at times.

I presume this is pretty much the same as derealization. Feeling spaced out, confused, in a dream-lie state which really scares you after a while. Well, there's no quick way of getting rid of it: the more attention you pay to it and the more you wish for it to go away the more it will persevere.
So the only way is to go with the flow: wait it out. It feels awkward but it doesn't hurt, and if you let it be and focus on your daily tasks it will also stop scaring you / making you more anxious. I have it on a daily basis but I know DR is completely harmless and it's just my brain trying to take a brake from all the stress (that's what causes DR, brain fog or whatever else it might be called: certain part of your brain are subjected to stress or shock or whatever and somehow enter a semi-sleep state to relax, and thus you end up feeling awkward, spaced out etc...)
It'll go away, so don't worry
Cheers, Martin

I'm feeling like this right now 🙁 well I think it's this anyways. I get this pressure ache around my temples and eyes (sometime kinda hurts a little), then a soreness on top of my head and a lightheaded/about to freak out awkwardness ( I really don't know how to describe it) but I do feel "out of it". Usually followed by a panic/freaking out feeling, kind of like the way we feel during a panic attack but it doesn't feel like a full blown attack, just a reaction to the "off feeling".

It goes on and off through out the day, whether I work out or not, I'm trying to ignore it but I hate this feeling, this one is all new to me and I don't like it at all.

At first I thought it was sinus related because of the pressure feeling but I'm starting to think not and maybe it's just a new anxiety symptom I am getting.

I've been dealing with it for a while. I went to my doctors because of chest pain, and all tests came back negative. They told me I needed to lose the stress. I told them about this foggy, heavy head, pressure around the eyes thing, and again, they said it was stress. I do find that when I take a clonazepam, it all goes away. Am I overly stressed? Sure am.

I hate the feeling to, and I do freak out at times. But then, I calm the nerves by telling myself that it is not brain cancer, or my head is not going to explode (although it truly feels that way) and that it'll all go away once I stay the course and do what I've been told I should to do, which is to get rid of the stress. Easier said than done but I want to get rid of all these sensations. I shouldn't complain about them since I haven't done anything about them.

I will not let anxiety run my life, and I need to believe in that 100%. I'll start tomorrow (and it's not the first time I've written that on this forum.) Hoping this time I'll get over the hump.

Hang in there,
Arturo

🙂 yeah I hate this new one but what can I do? Every now and then I take a half or a whole .25 xanax to ease it. I don't want to depend on the med but sometimes I just don't want to deal with the anxiety even more lol so f it.

It's easing, some days more than others, the night time attacks are slowing down, the light-headedness as well to a certain extent. The pressure is still there I think I might have a sinus infection because my allergies are also messing with me 😡

Quote this one because I also feel like this lol.

Lets keep on trucking I guess my friend!

Brain fog is a common symptom for me. I don't always know where it's coming from since I have Graves' Disease and Hypothyroidism in addition to GAD, Panic Disorder and Depression. I don't mind so much when I'm home but when I'm on the job it's frustrating. I feel that people are judging my intelligence because my mind is not as sharp or I'm feeling lethargic. "To be great is to be misunderstood" - is what I tell myself, lol.
