I just listened to the "Traits That Reinforce Anxiety" audio in Module 1 and unfortunately every one is a personality trait of mine! Regarding being a people pleaser, I know that in order to reduce stress I really have to say no to a number of requests (hard for me).

In terms of interpersonal relationships, does anyone else feel selfish that they dedicate so much time to anxiety at the expense of a spouse or loved one? I know I do -- sometimes I feel like I have to help myself first before I can be the person I want to be in a relationship, but geez, it could take quite a while to overcome anxiety and what spouse, significant other, etc. wants to wait that long for me to "come back?"

Hi Micheal, good to see you on the forum.

I can relate to this in a big way. Check out this podcast I did with my wife some time ago:
http://www.anxietyguru.net/10-ways-to-strengthen-your-relationships/

Anxiety was killing the relationship and for the most part I was unaware. Being selfish comes with the territory but it's important to remember that it can be overcome.
